After developing the UK’s first city-wide Gift Card program Town & City Gift Card in Perth in 2015, Miconex has gone on to become one of the fastest growing Scottish fintechs. Miconex’s Town & City Gift Card and Downtown Gift Card programs are active in 200+ places in the UK, Ireland, Canada and the USA. Over 20,000 businesses are part of Miconex’s programs, with over £79 million in local spend delivered to date.
Miconex announced £24 million in local Gift Card sales in 2025, an increase of 60% on 2024, as shoppers make the move to local Gift Cards to show support for local businesses. Miconex estimates that the £24 million will drive 486,000 specific visits to high streets and shopping districts in 2026, based on estimates of 3 trips into town per Gift Card.
